Re: Yaocho (defined for Goldie)

It seems that "Abe-san" became a legend or a part of mythology in the history
of Sumo ML.
It's a lot better to have more opinions expressed by more people than one
authority whether the authority's comments are right or wrong, at least for
the more active and pleasant ML. Without a proof, no one is free of mistake
or misunderstanding. As I have post it several times here, I've been living
in the US for over 20 years and I have NEVER seen hon-basho live. In
addition, I've never touched rikishi's bear body except shaking hands. I bet
so many members of this ML have more intimate relationship with Sumo and
Rikishi than I have, and I don't consider the level of my love of Sumo extra
special. I'm just a long time Japanese native who has been following Sumo for
a long time and have access to some Sumo books.

I don't have any spiritual power of any sort. I don't have any access to Sumo
gods either. My opinion is just an opinion by a native Japanese who has been
following Sumo for over 40 years, nor more no less. I don't treat Sumo as a
religion, sacred sports, rotten game, national treasure, honorable sports,
performing arts, pure money making business, pure tradition, violent sports,
or dying tradition. For me, Sumo is Sumo and I enjoy it whether it has matta,
henka, yaocho or discrimination of sorts. I don't particularly like any of
those, but I happen to love Sumo moderately. If I am ever involved in Sumo
society, I probably hate it. But as an observer from out side, I love Sumo.
But I love many other things, also.

I don't live and die with Sumo. So, please don't treat me like a voice from
above. I'm just another member of Sumo ML, and not even a founder or original
member of this ML. Compared to some other long time members, I'm a late
comer, though not a younger one.
