Re: Good old days

I went through some of my old video tapes looking for some old sumo footage,
and sure enough, I've got a portion of a basho from about 1985 when
Chiyonofuji was still active. Asashio won the yusho and Chiyo was not in his
best form, but there were still some good moments. Terao was an
up-and-coming lower Maegashira, Kirishima was a thin but muscular
mid-Maegashira who did not yet seem to have much effect on the female fans,
Konishiki was a vigorous Maegashira 3 on his way up, Mitoizumi was still
learning how to throw an ever-increasing handful of salt, Wakashimazu was
still intimidating, and Onokuni, Asashio and others were still advancing.

I also found a tape of a later basho from 1992 or so, when Mitoizumi won the
yusho. Akebono was injured, Kirishima was an Ozeki in decline, and Konishiki
was in even steeper decline.

I didn't keep these for any particular reason, they just got filed away with
my junk over the years, and now I wish I had kept more along the way. If
anyone out there has some Chiyonofuji highlights, I'd love to get a copy.
And if anyone wants a copy of what little I have I'd be happy to share.
