Re: Waka Kyujo?



It has only happen like 8 times, maybe less, last time being during the 80s.

You must have 2 ozeki and 2 yokozuna on the banzuke, but for some reason 
there is only one ozeki, then and only then, can the highest ranking 
yokozuna serve has yokozuna-ozeki.  I think Wajima got to do it once.

I thought that if Chiyotaikai kyujo then Akebono would get to be 
yokozuna-ozeki, but no, Chiyo is still listed on the banzuke.  Chiyo or 
Takanonami would have to retire, I guess, and then there would only be one 
ozeki, and then we would have a yokozuna-ozeki.
