[Spoiler] Taka's behavior (or lack thereof)

I just received my copy of the last basho and I'm at a loss for
Takanohana's behavior throughout the tournament. When he lost, he
didn't bow to his opponent. When he did matta, he didn't apologize.
Basically, he showed no respect for his opponents, the gyojis, and
surprisingly, the oyakatas judging at the dohyo. His behavior was
almost as poor as Takatoriki! I don't think I've ever seen Takanohana
show this level of pomposity. You'd think he was a Ko-Garu (high school
girl) primping at Harujuku!

On the other hand, Wakanohana was cordial to all and showed true
emotion, especially after his loss to Musoyama which would have put the
basho away. I'm afraid I must rescind my comments about Waka when he
was up for promotion from Ozeki. Waka has proven that not only is he up
to the task of being a competitive Yokozuna, but he also has exhibited
the kind of behavior that makes him a great champion. I have nothing
but the utmost respect for the new Yokozuna East, Wakanohana. Only if I
could say the same of the Takadroid.

All in all, an excellent basho full of excitement and suspense. Thumbs
up in this basho, obviously for Chiyo (Hatakikomi master #1), and I
can't write without mentioning Tosanoumi and Musoyama. Do any rikishi
go at it harder than them? Thumbs up as well to Mitoizumi for hanging
in there and Kotonowaka, who may be loosing his Hello Kitty mawashi
soon! Thumbs down to Musashimaru who (as the list has noted) looks
REALLY heavy! Thumbs down as well to Takanonami. I think they finally
figured him out! Also, a couple of predictions: Miyabiyama goes
makekoshi in his first basho with the big boys. Time to bust the bubble
(not the one on his shoulder!); Pred. #2: Cherub-boy Asanowaka goes 9-6
in Osaka and rides the elevator back to the middle of the pack!! Go
Cherub-boy!!!

Thanks for letting me say blah, blah, blah. Now back to your regularly
scheduled Sumo mailing list, the best of the best.
