Interviews

Well, well...the Sumo Kyokai website has posted interviews today of the
three prize winners from the Kyushu basho. Gee, I wonder what they said???

Shukun Sho: Kotonishiki - This is the Makuuchi Division Champion,
KOTONISHIKI. It was thanks to all you fans and your support that I was able
to come up with the record I did this time out. Thank you very much. Next
year , I want work even harder than I have to do my very best and do the
kind of speedy sumo that you all enjoy. Again, from the bottom of my heart,
thank you. (Hmmm...not bad! Must be a new speech writer.)

Kanto Sho: Tosanoumi - This is Isenoumi Beya's TOSANOUMI and I've just
received my fourth Fighting Spirit Prize. I'm going to do my very best next
year as well, so I hope you'll be rooting for me. (Hmmm...that's more like
it. )

Gino Sho: Tochiazuma and Kotonishiki - I'm TOCHIAZUMA and it's been a while
since I've won The Technique Prize. I feel I was able to do my brand of
sumo throughout the tournament this time out. For next year, I want to go
all out in bringing a fresh feel to my sumo. I hope you'll be there behind
me as I do. (Except if you're the gyoji or sitting in the front row!)

Tomita Sho (Comeback Prize): Gaijingai - Hi, I'm Gaijingai. I did my best.
What did you expect? Next year I'll do my best, too. It's early, but
akemashita omedeto gozaimasu. Rainen mo dozo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!

Best regards,
Jeffrey Anderson
