sumo politics picture: Kyokudozan - first question to the House

Member of Parliament Kyokudozan (former komusubi), now member of the newly
reformed Komei-to (the Peace party merged with it) has made his first
speech in parliament since his election two years ago.

Using sumo terms to attack the government (just reporting the article):
The tax reform being only neko-damashi (the way Mainoumi used to clap his
hands before the face of the opponent to get him off track - no longer
working well with the new tachiai-rule: he can't get his hands up and
together quickly enough - so maybe no chance of seeing Mainoumi in
Makunouchi again).

Since the Hashimoto cabinett, economy measures being hitori-sumo
(one-man-sumo), without the people taking part.
Obuchi, from the same "heya" as Hashimoto, shouldn't make the same mistakes.

and so on, yorikiri, matta etc.

Obuchi-soori-daijin (prime minister) made his reply to the "viper of the
south sea" (nickname of the Kyushu-born Kyokudozan) like "let's give the
recession a yorikiri", but didn't meet with much applause, so it seems.
