Favorite Rikishi Poll Reminder

Second call for the Scientific Favorite Rikishi Poll! So far I have
received 58 replies, about 1/7th of those allegedly on this list. Lurkers
and contributors are running about 50% each of the respondents. Good for
you, lurkers! One lurker told me he/she's been on this listserve since
1996 and hasn't posted yet. However, he/she was beaten by another who told
me he/she hasn't posted in five years! You all will have your identities
protected. :) Some regular contributors still haven't chimed in yet. And
how about our NHK trio who are on this listserve - Doreen, Tom, and Ross.
C'mon, you three. Yeah, I suppose you're supposed to be unbiased in your
reporting, but I'll keep your answers anonymous. Honest!

So far, two rikishi are out in front for the favorite retired rikishi and
favorite rikishi of all time. Also, the great majority of respondents are
from the USA and hardly any from Asia.

The poll will continue to run through October 25. Answers will be provided
within a day or two of then. I'll put out reminders again on the 16th and
23rd.

If you haven't responded yet, please do. Make sure that you reply to me -
jeffand@regent.edu - and not to the listserve. Domo.

Well, time to go work up an appetite. I'm going to the Ginza sushi bar for
lunch with a group of international students. Then I'm going there again
for supper as a guest of some friends from Okinawa! What a day! :-)
