The Japanese popular dance/singing/acting group called SMAP have a weekly tv
show here in Japan. They have a cooking segment in the show. The guest this
week was Yokozuna Takanohana. He requested that they make Miso Soup as it is
his favourite food. He also said that he likes Wakame, nato and tofu. These
were the other ingredients in the soup. He was really surprised when they
included nato in the soup as it's not an usual ingredient in miso soup.
The second course was a very delicious looking yaki soba dish.
They showed his wife and son in the audience. What a nice looking family.
Takanohana looked very relaxed and happy.
They asked him if rikishi were allowed to dye their hair, and he said no. I
guess that's why we've never seen any dyed blonde rikishi!
One other funny comment is that the compared his hand to a 500g steak! What
would I do without the wacky Japanese tv shows.
