Sumo trading cards question

Hi all-

I've purchased packets of the trading cards at various times and notice
that each packet has a card with sort of a cartoon rikishi, who is
either frowning or smiling.  I'd appreciate it if someone can tell me
what these cards represent.  I have two or three packs with the smiling
rikishi cards.  Should I be overjoyed?
