What is gojikanmae?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the list and am thrilled to see how many experts there are all
discussing sumo. I'm rather isolated in Reno, Nevada and they all think
I'm crazy for liking sumo. I keep up through tapes of the basho and the
web. Thank something that I work at a University Library with so many
great resources! Quick question -- I've heard Ross Mihara use the term
gojikanmae. I thought it meant "five hours ago" but what does it mean in
the context of sumo?

It's great to read all of your discussions. I'm learning exponentially
about this sport.

Arigato gozaimasu,

Laura Trounson
