[Sumo] Japanese papers and periodicals

For optimum information about Sumo I recommend the following
(If you can read Japanese):

Japanese papers and periodicals with information on Sumo
(AFAIK only Nikkan Sports has a satellite edition)

Tuesday, September 1st (the day after Banzuke publication)
- Sports Nippon with a colour portraits Banzuke showing among many other
data the Basho bonus (increases with Kachikoshi, Kinboshi and Yusho)
- Sports Hochi with the complete Banzuke down to Jonokuchi, name changes,
Haygyo, deaths and retirements

From September 13th (Aki Basho Shonichi) to 28th (day after Senshuraku)
- Nikkan Sports with all Torikumi down to Jonokuchi with Kimarite, Matta
penalties, Makunouchi Torikumi length (0.1 seconds), Kensho best ten and
after the Basho a prediction of the whole Makunouchi Banzuke

Monday, September 28th (final results)
- Sports Nippon with Makunouchi Kensho counts for each day as numbers in
the hoshitori table

Wednesday, September 30th (final results)
- Sports Hochi with the results of Makushita to Jonokuchi

One week after the end of the Basho, and shortly after Banzuke presentation
day, the monthly Sumo periodicals "Oozumo" and "Sumo" are published.

"Sumo" contains much more data
- after the Basho: a Banzuke image in B4 size, all Torikumi down to
Jonokuchi with Kimarite and for Makunouchi the Torikumi length;
- before the next Basho: results for each day of the last basho with
opponent, data for all Rikishi down to Jonokuchi, with real name, kg, cm,
date & place of birth, Hatsu-dohyo.

At the same time before the Basho (after Banzuke day), the two-monthly
NHK-Stera Sumo, and at the beginning of each month, Van-Van Sumo-Kai are
published.
Van-Van has a calendar of Sumo-programs on TV and events for the month.
Van-Van also sometimes publishes a list of all sumo-beya members with rank
(including Tokoyama, Gyoji, Yobidashi, Toshiyori, Wakaimonogashira,
Sewanin) with portrait photos, data and shikona name readings in Hiragana
letters.
