Konishiki on Dayline Japan

This was pure luck for me to watch: The NHK news in English, Dayline Japan
(Japan 2 p.m.), which usually have no sumo reports, had as the opening for
their series of summer features an NHK interview with Konishiki in English.


Some old sumo with Chiyonofuji and Takatoriki, with children from the
Australia basho - photos (it wasn't NHK!) from the danpatsu-shiki in a five
minute interview.
I heard the famous words "Do my best" to wake me up completely - I don't
have Dayline Japan on my timer list - I have to check what I got on the
tape.

He said, the hardest thing for him at the danpatsu-shiki was that his mom
couldn't be there because of kidney problems, his dad was shown doing a
cut.
He'll try to continue maybe as a side line judge.

Maybe it gets repeated, even on the usual (bilingual) NHK news.
Watch out.
