Tokyo ticket news

Just ran into Juryo Dewaarashi in the local convenience store, picking up a
few snacks. He was wearing a T-shirt with the inscription, "The BIG shall
inherit the earth" - if it's true, I'm in trouble.

But I digress. Tickets went on sale today at the Kokugikan for the May
basho (10-24). There are conflicting notices posted up in the window. The
English-language one says all the weekend tickets are sold out. However,
the Japanese chart, (which I trust because the oyakata who stuck it on the
window doesn't necessarily understand what's written in furrin languages),
gives the following information: C seats (upstairs, next-to-last two rows)
available all days; B seats (five rows below C seats) sold out only Day 7;
A seats sold out Days 1,4, 7,8,14,15. I am totally mystified as to why
Wednesday Day 4 has done so well - it isn't a public holiday. Poissonally,
I'll be there tomorrow trying to make sure of the days I don't think I'll
get a press card.

A happy Easter/Passover to those of you who worship the same God I do; to
the rest - no hard feelings, enjoy the weekend anyway.
