kawika komments - yamato status

well yamato visited the doctor today, everything is AOK.  he is losing
breath at training, but the doctor said that was to be expected, after 6
weeks in the hospital.  he is planning on extra exercise to get his
endurance back.

since he was already in his kimono, he stopped by my office day for the
grand tour and lunch.  we ate some very tasty sushi, yummy.

as i reported before, his oyakata has postponed his wedding from may to
september, cause he wants him to focus on sumo this basho, get out of
junryo, which i figure is no problem, IMHO.

as far as yobidashi and gyoji go, they are cool, but just window dressing
in a very traditional sport, i like the sumotori and oyakata the most.  i
am not sure why they post the yobidashi names, i have never cheered for one
of them, yet they have a special purpose and sumo would be difficult
without them, at least in terms of all the little functions they perform.
plus, i guess everyone knows that they belong to an ichimon too.  lots of
the fatter yobidashi you will find were too short to join as sumo wreslters.

one question, which i think our buddy doreen can answer.....how does one
get a start at being a gyoji?
