[Non-Sumo] RE: Just a suggestion
Bob & Sue -
Don't know if this helps, but I find that filtering to TO: area seem to
work better. Since most messages to the mailing list are sent to
sumo@brooks.stagen.ncsu.edu (with a few still being sent to
sumo@tosca.gnets.ncsu.edu), a filter that works on either seems to catch
99% of the messages. As exceptions show up, just add an additional
filter.
Finally, I have seen other mailing lists do what you ask automatically.
When a message is sent to the mail server, the subject line is prefixed
with a flag to indicate the mailing list. By adding such a consistent
piece of text, it becomes easier to filter messages into the appropriate
mailbox (if desired). For example, I send the following message to the
mailing list:
Chaffed Cheeks from Over-starched Mawashi
The mail server then the prefixes the subject as follows:
[Sumo] Chaffed Cheeks from Over-starched Mawashi
I have sent an inquiry to Chris (Sumo-Owner) asking if it is possible to
do the same on our list. Would others be interested if it turns out
that this can be implemented?
