I missed Takanohana coming up through the ranks, but always wondered that he
had 7 wins before he was made a yokozuna.  Is this the reason - to teach him
humility?  Was he really arrogant?  Hardly anyone I know likes him, and this
could help to explain it.  Did it work?  Personally, ..., well I'll wait to
see what others think.
