Well da boys got back from their 7 day jungyo on Sunday.  I know that Yamato is happy to be back.  He is tired of accessing the internet via his ketai denwa, so now he is stepping up to ISDN at his flat.

Not much news here, Konishiki/Sanoyama is much too busy to reply to any of my emails or voice messages, heck, it seems he is on tv every morning now.  Figure he will be the new front man for the sumo kyokai, since he is so recognizable.

Keep an eye out in Hawaii for a new restaurant as well, at least that was one of his many business ideas, Hawaiian style gyuudon, ummmm, yummy.

I would like to toss out a subject that might wake up this list.  Does any believe that if Takanonami does 13-2, runner-up next basho, that he should be promoted to yokozuna?  I say NO.  Does anyone remember the last yokozuna that was NOT promoted due to two yusho in a row?

I truly feel that Akebono is around for awhile too.  Many people are asking me, won't he retire soon?  I can't see why.  He is young still, and in much better shape than most wrestlers.  He really only lacks the mental power, that Taka has.  Pound for pound, he is most likely stronger than Taka, but he does not win the mind games, IMHO.

I am off to Honolulu for some much needed home leave.  Any of those folks on the list on Oahu would like to meet for a beer and talk sumo, send me an email.
