I think so, too. Just imagine a cat and an elefant falling down from 
a window on second floor. Or the elefant, since it is taller from 
tenth floor. Maybe this is a somewhat drastic example, 
but it has nothing to do with the skill of cats and elefants. It's a 
materials science problem, if you want. Upscaling a moving part will 
require stronger materials to avoid damage in the case of sudden 
decceleration, but the basic materials of human rikishi stay the same. 

It is also a problem for the rikishi who stay smaller and/or lighter. 
This is the problem of an S class Mercedes colliding with an East 
German Trabant (or if you don't know that one, with a VW beetle). 
Trabants were reasonably safe on East German streets as long as the 
largest other cars were Russian Ladas.
