I recall reading a few years ago about a stain of staphylococcus bacteria
that would affect the knees of rikishi. The bacteria would enter through
the feet of the rikishi from the dohyo. It would then travel up to the
knees of the affected rikishi causing swelling and infection. Does anyone
recall this story?
I just got thinking about this because of the recent comments about injury.
