[Sumo Games] ISP Time Again!!
Hi all,
Sorry to have been a bit slow, but I've finished
updating the "registration" page for the sumo pool.
If you've never played before, that's where you can
pick and submit your tiebreakers. It's explained
on the page, which is at http://www.oz.net/~drc/reg.html
If you have any questions about how to play and such,
just send me an e-mail. I'll try to be prompt with a reply!
Tiebreakers can be sent by e-mail, too, if you don't have
web access. They are the same as last time- #1 is best
record in the maegashira ranks, #2 is best record among
the "sanyaku" rikishi. They may also be needed at banzuke
making time, so please try to get them in to me.
The current banzuke is posted at http://www.oz.net/~drc/ban1197.html
New players will now enter at juryo #8.
As before, daily picks can be made with the online form at
http://www.oz.net/~drc/isp.html , or they can be sent directly
to me at <drc@oz.net>.
Beginning next time (January), please let me know if you are going
to miss a contest. You can miss one without penalty (like it's
due to a "public injury"). With the new style of banzuke, however,
it would be nice to know that you just plan to miss one and then return.
Otherwise, it's unfair to those lower in rank to hold a spot on the
banzuke for a player who has left. I'm not sure how harsh the penalty
may end up being for disappearing without a trace, but in the "real
world" it would be an 0-15 record.
To a more pleasant subject- It looks like we will have prizes
this time for yusho, jun-yusho and third place (jun-jun-yusho? :)!!
I'll post details about this tomorrow. Those who were kind enough
to offer us prizes deserve higher profile recognition than being
mentioned this far into an otherwise very boring post :)
That's about all for now. I'm looking forward to another exciting
contest. Hopefully there will be more "kachi-koshi"s this time!!
Thanks,
Dale
P.S. I just read Totoro's post. I'm also wondering how objectionable
the daily ISP results posts are. Let me know, too. (Geez, if you've read
this far, how can you object? :)
