NorCal Sumo Get-together

After Haru-basho Sumo Get-together in Northern California
will be held in the Saturday evening this week at 5:30 pm
at Taraval Okazu-ya. The time is not that strict, but because
we don't want to keep people from far away too late, we'd
like to start early. I'll bring Sumo Digest and other sumo video, 
including a video about Kirishima, and his hair-cutting ceremony
which is a part of Sumo Digest from Naka-bi.

The following description is from Mary (Marysf@aol.com), 
and she will make a reservation for us. If you want to attend, 
please let Mary know as soon as possible, since she needs to
contact the restaurant very soon.

I found a great restaurant in SF if you want to go there. It is called
Taraval Okazu Ya, and they have a semi-private room which can accomodate 
up to 12 people. They said  bringing a TV is fine. We would need to 
reserve the room a few days in advance. The main room will take more 
people, but I don't know if TV is OK. 

The prices for dinner run from $3.75 (udon) to $8.95 (daily fish 
specials). I had nabeyaki udon, $5.95, and it was very good. The sushi 
is terrific. 

They are located at 1735 Taraval Street, between 27th and 28th Ave. in 
San Francisco, tel. (415) 759-6850. The hours are Mon-Sat noon-10pm, Sun 
5-10pm. 

For anyone wanting to come in on public transit, they can take BART to 
SF downtown (Embarcadero through Civic Center stations) and transfer to 
MUNI. The "L Taraval" line will go straight there!
