Internet Sumo Pool
Just a quick (I hope) post to remind everyone of how the pool
works, etc.
Each day, a match is featured and posted to the mailing list. This
usually comes in with the previous day's results. I don't plan to post
this, as I'm assuming the CIS pool's match is the one we are still
using. If this isn't going to be posted, or we're not allowed to use
it, please advise me of this.
Each participant chooses who they think will win, and sends this to
me <drc@oz.net> by 10:30 PM PDT (0530 GMT). Your entry should
look like this-
Day 1
Your Pick
Your Shikona
Your Tiebreaker.
If you could put the day and your shikona in the subject line, like "1 Bobokuni"
that would make sorting easier for me.
The tiebreaker, like last time, must be below Sekiwake rank. You only need
to send this the first day.
I'll post all entries received around "deadline" time. My entry will be posted
then too, so you know I'm not cheating :). If your entry is missing, resend it
as soon as possible, at least before 12:00 midnight PDT (0700 GMT)
Prior to 10:30PM PDT, you can change your pick, the last received will be used.
Some of you can't get e-mail access every day of the basho. One contestant
asked if he could advise me of a predetermined formula to make his pick
on the day he'd be missing. This is fine with me, but I think it should be
limited
to 3 days/basho, so people can't just play "automatically". He is simply going
with the first rikishi listed in the day's match. Your formula may vary. I hope
there aren't big objections to this. I feel like it's only fair to give
those who must
miss a couple days because they can't get online a 50% chance. Maybe advance
notice of the days you'll have to miss should be required, I don't know.
This isn't
"my" pool, it's everybody's. Let me know what you think about this.
Ok, so much for this being "quick", huh? Let me know if I forgot something, and
good luck!
