Back again!

I'm having a lot of trouble with net access these days. Our system is
in transition, and currently it's just not doing well. The new machines
won't be in place for awhile, so I have to make do as best I can. Why
am I moaning to you? Just so you know if there is a delay, it may not
be anything I can get around.

Ian's web pages seem to have changed location, so for web entries, wait
a day or so til the url is verified. Email entries can be made anytime
from now on. Send them to me only. Ian is moving to Japan, so he won't
be in position to do much for awhile anyhow.

I've sent a new file to Chris, who will put it on the majordomo server
when he gets a chance (reading, maybe Tuesday). To get this file, send
email to Majordomo@tosca.gnets.ncsu.ed with the command:

get sumo Hoshi.txt
end

and then post it. You'll get it back in a short time. This contains all
the important rules to the hoshitori. I recommend everyone to read it,
even if you think you're a veteran.

Prizes:

First Place: As usual, the winner is welcome to Hachinohe for a tasty meal,
now being held for 6 months after Senshuraku.

Runner-up: I haven't received any offers for other prizes lately, so will
leave this area up to the goodwill of our fellow members to come up with
any other prizes (email to me, not the whole list, please, on this one).

One entry per person, and entrants must be members of the sumo mailing
list, as always. Email them to me or use the web entry format. Either
way, entries are due to me by 12:00 noon, JST (GMT +9 hours), on this
coming Sunday, September 8th (Shonichi).

Entries contain 13 main selections (no restrictions), 1 substitute and
a tie-breaker. The tie-breaker is now the number of kensho (sponsor
banners) that are brought up for the san-yaku (Komusubi and higher)
rank matches on Shonichi.

### Please, send ONLY the relevant portion of this mail, and take out
the unnecessary junk like the ">" markers, etc. There are a lot of
things to wade through all in all, and it takes a lot of time. Your
assistance is appreciated.

### Type rikishi names in normal letters, not all caps! Only the
rikishi in Makuuchi (Yokozuna thru Maegashira) are eligible.

### From 12:00 noon JST on Shonichi, all entries are considered final.
If you think there is an error in your entry, you must email me within
36 hours of the initial results posting. After that, you'll have to
live with what you got.
