Why exactly was Mainoumi demoted? As far as I remember he was injured in a bout
with Konishiki that he even had won. It was on day 3 and he was 2:1 at 
maegashira 11.

Is it always so that only the points which you have made until an injury count
for promotion/demotion? Suppose someone is komosubi and gets injured on day 1
in a bout that he looses. Would they demote him to the lower maegashira ranks
or even to juryo?

Do you think there is any chance of Mainoumi coming back to maku(no)uchi? It's
tough down there and too many rikishi in juryo know his style. He would probably
need at least three consecutive kachikoshi basho, since he'll probably not
manage large margins even if he is in good shape.
