Konishiki-seki returned to Tokyo from jungyo yesterday for treatment to a
leg injury that he has had ever since he beat both yokozuna during his 2nd
basho at makunouchi.  After that basho he had a fever and suffered from the
shakes.  He told his oyakata and okamisan that he was not feeling well, but
they did not understand or believe him.  Then finally okamisan checked his
temp., 40C, she freaked, but he still walked to the hospital on his own
power.  So if you look at his right calf, it is very swollen and hard as a
rock.  He says that it does not hurt that much, that it really hurt when he
first got the injury years ago.

Abe-san, do you know who the two yokozuna were that he beat?  It was the
Nagoya basho.

NTT is going to Konishiki-seki home on Monday to install his ISDN line.
Afterwards, the same day, IBM Japan will be installing his new IBM Aptiva,
with PC Camera.  The following day, he is holding a video conference, over
the internet, with students in Honolulu, at the GTE Telecomm. Center downtown.

He also received a free Apple Notebook from a friend at Apple Japan.

Nanfu has quit sumo.  Konishiki-seki told me that after the last basho, he
spoke to oyakata and quit.  He is very close to his family back in Honolulu,
and there have been some major family problems recently.
