     I tend to agree with your analysis.  But there maybe something else at 
     work.  He is going through a phase when no one is expecting big things 
     from him and maybe he wants some attention.  Like most of the 
     Hawaiians he is emotional and puts a lot of pressure on himself and if 
     he falters he thinks all is lost???????
     
     Perhaps over time he'll get back to where he was a year or so ago.  
     Afterall, he has an ideal sumo body, if he doesn't continue to grow 
     bigger!!!!!!;-)
     
     I believe he'll show his stuff soon.

By watching him, I feel the following:
     
1) He has a limited number of techniques.
2) If he is held still, he is almost certain to loose after a minutes 
deadlock.
3) If he looses a match, he seems to loose enthusiasm. If he had a 
unbroken run on the last day he would be fantastic.
     
Just some thoughts...
