Since NHK is the monopoly in broadcasting all 6 hombasho a year,
the only way other national network could broadcast sumo matches
is to have their own non-hombasho tornament. Ozumo Kachinuki Yusho-sen
is one of those non-hombasho tornament. Similar to jungyo, these tornament
is extra matches which are not counted for the ranking promotion or kosho,
even if they get injured during the match, rikishi don't take these matches
too seriously as the matches during hombasho.

It's not as exciting as hombasho matches, but these extra tornaments are
good chance to see "real" sumo without paying too much for ordinary sumo
fans.
