Sorry, a dumb question: I've been in the Hoshitori contest for the last
three or four basho (Jakyu-M2). When I first entered, I assumed that if
6 or more of my chosen Rikishi won on any given day, then I would be
given a WIN for that day. I found out rather quickly that is not the
case. Bottom line - I have no idea how you determine "win-loss equivalents
of the raw scores". Help!! For those of us (and I have to assume that
includes just about everybody in our forum) that faithfully watch each
days matches live (real fanatics) or tape them to watch the next morning,
it would be great to KNOW that you got a WIN that day or not so great to
KNOW that you got a LOSS that day. This would seem to be more in line
with real sumo. Can you imagine the confusion (etc.) that would ensue
if real sumo was operated in this fashion? Each rikishi would fight his
match and win or lose, then they would all gather in a room and wait for
the computer to determine if they ACTUALLY won that day or, based on the
total results of all rikishi, might find that there efforts in the ring
were to no avail. Said too much already but I'd sure like to see a
simpler method. Or, maybe it's me that doesn't understand. Help again!!

I like the idea of the number of wins determining your promotion or
demotion as indicated in the provided table:

I agree.
