Good idea.  I've done this a few times.

Once I went to Azumaseki Beya with some colleagues and there were other
visitors too.   We walked in very quietly and sat on the pillows around the
practice area.  You should keep talk between you quiet and to a minimum.  We
went early in the morning and two of my crew who nodded off were prodded with
the stick and told to leave or stay awake.  After a rather amusing fall some
other spectators laughed and were told very loudly "Don't laugh".

Yep.

I would go from 7.30-8.00am and until Morning practice finishes (around 10.30).
