Japanese citizen Akebono

Yokozuna Akebono became a Japanese citizen earlier today in Japan.
His Japanese name will be the same as his shikona (sumo name), 
AKEBONO Taro, but without an extra dot he added when he was promoted
to Yokozuna (or was it Ozeki?).

He is the fourth American rikishi who became a naturalized Japanese citizen.
Previously, Takamiyama (Azumazeki Oyakata), Konishiki, Musashimaru were
granted Japanese citizenship. Currently, this is a required process to be
an oyakata after their retirement from active rikishi (sumo wrestler).
