I think there is rather easy solution to this discussion.
I basically agree with Tito.

I am against "automatic" reposting to USENET group.
Each poster should decide the post should be in this group or
USENET group. If YOU think it is beneficial to post both or
only USENET sumo group, no one will stop you, as long as it
is your post.

Each member (or no-member) can decide which medium (or
media) s/he should use. That should be left to each individual.
I thought, "each has unique advantage" was the way and the base
we voted "yes" to USENET sumo group. I don't understand where 
the "automatic" idea came from.

If that "automatic" means, only selective (and specifically
requested by posters) posts, I don't have any problem with it.
I am against the "automatic" idea, if that is to ask people to
do extra effort for NOT to be reposted in USENET sumo group.
People should feel comfortable posting here without thinking
and worrying about being reposted somewhere s/he is not
intending to.

If there are two distinguished groups, don't mix them. If you 
want to contact more people than people in here, do so without
using other people's posts.

If you are trying to help people who have only limited INBOX
capability, we should consider "digest" option for the members of 
this group. That will help them considerably without mixing two
groups.
