Match of the day 3:22 for Taka to send out Kotonowaka,
who really put up a great fight before Taka forced him
out. Koto was the main aggressor for the first half,
then they settled for awhile. Koto tried to stand up
the Yokozuna, which enabled Taka to get low and run
Koto back. Takanonami looked great in overpowering
Tosanoumi. Maybe he's going to become a better rikishi.
Kenko won fairly easily over the fading Wakanohana, and
Musashimaru pounded Minatofuji mercilessly. Kaio stood
up a good defense, nearly losing, before coming back
and charging out the Moose. Asahiyutaka, looking better
than ever, quickly ran out Kotonishiki, who's dying at
an unusually early time in the basho. He doesn't have
the spirit he needs. Konishiki had a break from another
man who doesn't read the scouting report. Oginishiki
decided, rather foolishly, that he'd try to confront
the Mass head-on. Konishiki put up a barn wall and sent
him packing quickly.

The English broadcast indicated that Akebono has some water
on the right knee. He and Azumazeki-oyakata felt that he
should stay out and take care of his body.

Hoshitori results are still out. Hang in there!

Nokotta Nokotta!!
