Janaury rankings - Hatsu-basho
Happy holidays.
Thank you for posting the new banzuke.
I changed the format to a more standard one and
added records from Kyushu, FYI.
Tomonohana's isamiashi loss on Senshuraku costed him at least
5-mai. Instead of facing sanyaku rikishi, he should expect
some bouts against juryo rikishi and possible demotion to
juryo rank in Osaka, if he fails to win kachikoshi in Hatsu-basho.
The same isamiashi kept me in M rank in last hoshitori competition,
also. :(

* Maegashira Hitto means "(written at) the top of Maegashira" and
Maku-jiri means "the rear-end of Maku(uchi)".
Hitto is a combination of hitsu (pen) and tou (head).
Jiri is actually shiri as a stand-alone form and literally means
"rear-end".
