Re: sumo gambling

We used to have some good hoshitori in Aomori. The head cop
decided a few years back that spending 2,500 yen for a chance
at winning a small car was too much like gambling, so he told
them they were illegal. He must've lost all the time! My
wife and I used to make our own after that, with the loser
having to cook dinner for the winner. Even if it's something
minor like that, it made the basho a lot more interesting, as
sometimes you have to root against someone you like. :-)
For those of you wondering, "What the hell is a hoshitori?"
stay tuned, as the info is coming soon!!
Hakke yoi!
