I would have been seriously disturbed hadn't Kotonishiki made it to komusubi.
I mean, he got kachikoshi at east maegashira 1 and it would have been cruel
and unusual punishment not to promote him at all ;-) And don't forget, this
guy had to fight all the strong rikishi and he beat a yokozuna and an ozeki.
So my question to all (even if probably only Masumiriki can answer it, if
it can be answered at all ;-):

Does somebody remember an occasion were an east maegashira 1 got kachikoshi
and wasn't promoted to komusubi? Or an east komusubi got kachikoshi and 
wasn't promoted to sekiwake?
