Thank you for sharing the interesting information of Schwingen.
Actually, this sport is one of several sports collected from many 
different areas of the world for a NHK program on 
"In Search Of Sumo's Root" or under the similar title and hosted
by Former Yokozuna Wakanohana-I, or Former Futagoyama Rijicho.

Overall, he failed to find Tachiai in any sumo-like sports in the
world. Tachiai, Tsuki-Oshi seemed unique techniques to Japanese
Sumo.
