Trojan warnings/Gino-sho
All,
My observation from other mailing lists I'm on is that warnings about
super-nasty viruses are pretty common. Kind of like when there's a disaster
and they break into the Knicks game (or the sumo basho) to announce it on
TV. It's just a fast way to get the news out, as a public service. While I
agree with Shari that we wouldn't want a notice about *every* virus, a
Trojan parading as an update to PKZIP is *truly* nasty (I can't think of a
good Mac equivalent ... PKZIP is more ubiquitous than Stufit, and people
almost always get updates online, whereas Stuffit is now available
shrink-wrapped.)
So I agree with those who say: thanks Mr. Abe!
Rather than start a thread about what's on or off topic (though it's an
important subject) ...
A sumo question: what's with the Gino-sho? Hard to believe that *no one*
for the last 5 bashos has deserved an award for technique. I personally
think that any time Mainoumi or Kyokudozan makes kachi-koshi, they should
get it <g>.
Finally, like all lurkers who finally post, I'd like to say what a great
intercultural, international online community this is! There aren't a lot of
sumo fans in New Jersey!
