Re: Another flame war?
There is an easy solution to this, append the warning to the end of your
message similar to my PSA and make the primary message relavant to the
the topic.
For example, in this message I am going to talk about my first exposure
to Sumo. I first was exposed to Sumo while growing up in hHawaii and
watching sumo on channel 13. The first few times I watched it was sith
the sort of fascination one reserves for car crashes, Roller Derby and
Professional Wrestling, particularly the latter two which were very
active in Hawaii at that time at the old Civic Arena with Jimmy Blears'
father running the show. Soon, however, I began to see that SUmo had a
much greater depth to it, and the watching of Sumo became a diferent type
of fascination. I know I was not alone, as in Boyscouts we would stage
unorganized Sumo Tournements. Then, when I went off to college I lost
touch with Sumo. In recent years my kownledge of SUmo has again
reimerged, in part becuase I do a good deal of business with Japan and it
represents a good area of discussion with my clients (althought they seem
to prefer to talk about the Bears or the Cubs). The Sumo list, with the
exception of the occasional flame has been valuable and I appreciate it.
Thanks
djcraven@netcom.com (David Craven) who believes what he hears:
"And I am right, And you are right, And all is right as right can be!"
"I'm really very sorry for you all, but it's an unjust world, and virtue
is triumphant only in theatrical performances."
PSA - Bicycles are vehicles too. Rule of the Road #1. If you are riding
a bicycle, stop at the stop lights and wait for them to change.
