Even those who claim that there are some cases, they never said that
most are predetermined or choreographed, unlike World Wrestling
Federation (WWF: I don't think it is World Wide...).

Yokozuna of WWF has never being a genuin rikishi before, and Earthquake
of WWF (Tsunami of NWF??) used to be a rikishi and his shikona was
Kototenta and Kototenzan of Sadogatake-beya. He never lost a match when
he left sumo as a makushita rikishi.
It is so painful to hear that someone is camparing sumo with WWF.
WWF is much more sophisticated and very well choriographed entertainment
based on a script developed by the owner and organizer.
Whereas sumo is very primitive and very basic with very simple rule.
It is very difficult to choreograph with predetermined story, except
simply who lose a match to make their win-loss record to ww-ll or make
sure one will win the tornament, three special awards, or kashikoshi
winning record.
Only exception is shokkiri, or choreographed humorous sumo match in
jungyo and hana-zumo. In this case, people totally know that it is
a humorous performance with a very simple story. And they enjoy it.

I'm sure the predetermined sumo matches will lose the ratings rather
than gain. I don't worry about this possibility at all. Even though
I believe there are some fixed matches once in a while, I pretty
much enjoy sumo in present form, most of the time.
