Sumo Matches Compared with U.S. WWF Matches

Hello -- I have been reading the discussion on Sumo matches with one
thread on the possiblility that in some sumo matches one of the
participants may not be putting forth his best effort and that this might
be traded off between wrestlers.

From what I can tell, that compared with the U.S. World Wide Wrestling
Federation (WWF) with Hulk Hogan and someone who was formerly in sumo at
one time, that the sumo matches that I see on the news seem to be far
more genuine with surprises and real hard work by participants.

While the sumo tradition seems quite demanding, I enjoy watching real
matches and not the rigged shows of the WWF. I hope the professional
sumo organization does not sacrifice tradition for ratings. I would
dislike sumo to end up as a Japanese clone of the WWF !!!

Sincerely -- Curt Hellenbrand
