Day 2 (Comments)
Some of the 1st/2nd Round matches:
Akebono vs. Tomonohana: --> Akebono (Just one push ...)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Takanohana vs. Kirishima: --> Takanohana (just lifted him)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Wakanohana vs Takamisugi: --> Wakanohana (Stablemates - didn't see it)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Naminohana vs. Oginishiki: --- Naminohana (yorikiri)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Hamanoshima vs. Kotogaume: --> Hamanoshima
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Mainoumi vs. Kasugafuji: --> Mainoumi (okuridashi)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Minatofuji vs. Kotobeppu: --> Minatofuji
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Daishoho vs. Asanowaka: --> Asanowaka
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Asanowaka vs. Daizen: --> Asanowaka (yorikiri)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
#--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Akebono vs. Naminohana: Two matches here: First a starring contest. Mono sugoku
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ did they stare each other down. Naminohana nearly evenly matched
Akebono, but at least one time lost. Then he tried to seduce
Ake into 'jikan mae' and he nearly accepted it (or played with him ???)
Finally the hammer fell, Akebono dito. Little henka by Kenko.
Was he careless or nervous or just bad luck ??? At least it was serious.
Takanohana vs. Taktoriki: Without prejudice: Did I see Taka smile ? It was a littlebit like the
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ playing of the Cat (with the mouse). Hard to tell if it was serious. Ed ???
Takanonami vs. Hamanoshima: Without prejudice (???): Buddha got his usual grip (yawn) and made his usual face (yawn)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ but Hamanoshima marched him out from under his armpits (know what I mean ???)
Mainoumi vs. Misugisato: First Misugisato tried a Mighty-Mouse Trick, but his sempai showed him how
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ to do it correctly and made him dance like bear on one foot. (picture it ?)
Mainoumi vs. Asonowaka: Again coming low like a bull. Didn't learn his lesson when Kyokudozan leaped over
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ him in this famous bout. MM did it before didn't he ? This time just half-hearted
but you could see, how it'd work. He did almost the same the match before aginst
Naminohana.
Takanohana vs. Musashimaru: Sheer Tsuppari-power. Maru positioned his hand (the big one) on Takas face and
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ there it stayed 'till Taka was out. Convincing oshidashi !!! Taka got no grip.
Mainoumi vs. Musashimaru: No Chance. Kawaisooooo
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
#------ Play-Off ---------------------------------------------------------
Akebono vs. Musashimaru: Both with their hands on the mawashis. Akebono won due to his better skills.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
#--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Money awarded for the yusho was 300 Man Yen (count the zeros by yourself)
