Masumi-san,
As usual you are correct. I looked in my past issues of Sumo World and
found that at the Kyushu basho Tokisunada was injured while at M-5 and in
the last basho he was at M-14. Als at the Hatsu Basho last year Kushimaumi
was injured while at M-7 and in the next basho was at J-4. So I guess the
rule is that with the absent matches included the rikishi is demoted for
the next basho.
