This must be the same Asahikuni that I remember from the early 70's.
Although, when I last saw him he was not yet an Ozeki. As I recall, he had
a broad flat face with a large almost square head which he used 
as a weapon. He seemed to deliberately head butt his opponents at the 
tachiai often inflicting severe cuts upon his adversary or himself.

Does anyone know of any other unusual requirements that a fledgling 
sumotori had to perform in order to to pass a "shin-deshi kensa".
