Re: Sentoryu etc.

If I am remembering an article in Sumo World correctly, Henry
Miller was born at Yakota Air Force base outside of Tokyo, the son of a
Japanese mother and a black US father, an enlisted airman. He was born at
the same time as the first moon landing, which accounts for the
"Armstrong" middle name. He grew up in St Louis, and played high school
football, whereupon he wrecked his knees, and excluded a college football
career. His wrecked knees, unfortunately, have accounted for his slow
rise in professional sumo (I believe that he came in at the same time as
Akebono). My question is this: is he the first rikishi from the US
outside of Hawaii?
