Sumo Museum (Re: Tokyo Kokugikan)

Take JR Sobu-line to Ryogiku station. If you take North Exit, Ryogoku
Kokugikan is right in front of you. Don't disappointed with its size, Sumo
Museum is only one-room exhibition. They change the display from time to
time. I was kind of disappointed for I expected it to be the museum full of
sumo information and history.

When I visited there last month, during Nagoya-basho, they had Yokozuna
Kesho-mawashi exhibit going on. There were Taiho's, Kashiwado's,
Kotozakura's and others. There were also old scrapbooks with clipped
newspaper articles from old days, from Tochi-Waka Era on. It was very quiet
and we, particularly my 12-year-old son and I enjoyed the exhibit.

I don't know if it is open on Sunday or not, but it is open free to public.
