The museum is open most days, though I am not sure about Sunday. It
is, to be honest, a pretty insignificant affair, especially when
compared to the new Tokyo museum just behind the Kokugikan. Whilst
interesting, you wouldn't want to schedule more than an hour or so to take
it in. It is only
1 room, which shows various bits and pieces belonging to ex-rikishi. Note
that during Basho dates, plus those days when other competitions/events
are going on which you have to pay for, you can't get into the museum
without a ticket for the main event. Otherwise, it's free.
