a typical day at a sumo beya



4:30 am toriteki (before-Juryo rikishi) getting up from lower ranked rikishi
        Shindeshi, Jonokuchi, Jonidan, Sandamme, Makushita

5:00 am start practicing sumo from lower ranked rikishi
        Shindeshi, Jonokuchi, Jonidan, Sandamme, Makushita

7:00 am sekitori (Juryo & Makuuchi) getting up

8:00 am sekitori start practicing sumo
        toriteki watch and serve sekitori's sumo
        oyakata sitting on zabuton cussion, watch from agari-zashiki with
tatami mat

When it's time, chanko-ban (cooking persons) of the day start preparing for
chanko.

11:00 am practice over

11:30 am taking bath from rikishi of higher rank

12:00 noon start having the largest chanko (meal) of the day from higher
ranked rikishi

1:30 pm chanko over
        lower ranked rikishi clean the meal, wash the dishes, sweep heya,
wash clothes

2:00 pm taking a nap

4:00 pm getting up / free time
        chanko-ban start preparing for smaller chanko (meal) of the day

6:00 pm supper  (sekitori may go out for dunner and drink)

after supper    free time

10:00 pm curfew

11:00 pm going to bed (lower ranked rikishi go to bed earlier)
