Re: ...rikishi food

I'm sure some rikishi have strechmarks. You usually don't have any chance
to be close enough to see their strechmarks. You may see them through High
Difinition TV, though.

The physical requirements for Shin-Deshi (a new sumo pupil) are 173 cm high
and 75 kg heavy. You need to be at or older than 15 and younger than 20
years old. If you are or you have been an amature sumo champion or
equivalent, and at or older than 20 and younger than 25 yeard old, you
could start at the bottom of Makushita. In this case, there are no physical
requirements. Tomonohana started when he was 27 years old, because the
present requirement was set after he became makushita rikishi.

Usually, oyakata look for big young boy. If he is good at some kind of
physical sports such as sumo, judo, rugby, soccer, volleyball, basketball,
skate, bicycling, and even swimming, it makes him more valuable. If he has
well developed lower body (a butt and thighs) and have lower gravity, he
would be an ultimate sumo candidate.

In addition, he needs to be trainable with strong will to succeed and
flexible to get adjusted to a new environment.

After becoming Jonokuchi rikishi, if he could not enter Makushita within 5
years or 30 basho, he cannot remain in sumo community.
