Makunouchi Banzuke Page
Re: 1994 Nagoya-basho Banzuke!
I was surprised to see J2e Kushimaumi (8-7) promoted to makuuchi instead of
J7e Aogiyama (11-4). From my view point, Aogiyama's rank and record
deserves to be promoted to makuuchi than Kushimaumi's rank and record,
except the fact that Kushimaumi won over two maegashira rikishi, M15w
Naminohana and M16e Asahizato, and Aogiyama did not have a chance to match
against any makuuchi rikishi during Natsu-basho.
J1 Toyonoumi 7-8 Daishi 8-7
J2 Kushimaumi 8-7 Kyokugozan 6-9
J3 Shikishima 7-8 Oginohana 12-3
J4 Daishoyama Kototsubaki 6-9
J5 Asahiyutaka 8-7 Wakanoyama 9-6
J6 Tatsuhikari 6-9 Kirinishiki 7-8
J7 Aogiyama 11-4 Tomoefuji 9-6
