Re: Wakanohana listed as kadoban

I thought his injury was considered as "kosho", an injury occured during
his official business. Kosho system is to save rikishi with injuries which
occured during hon-basho match from slipping the rank.

I believe Wakanohana's injury is actually "kosho" and he should not lose
ozeki status even if he records makekoshi this Nagoya-basho. If he records
makekoshi for two consecutive basho, for example, Nagoya-basho and
Aki-basho, then he will lose ozeki status.

He recorded kachikoshi in January. He got injured during Haru-basho in
March. He stayed away from Natsu-basho in May. If he records makekoshi in
Nagoya-basho, that will be his first makekoshi. I don't think his
Haru-basho is considered as a regular makekoshi, because of "kosho" injury.

Think about this way, if he recorded makekoshi in January, is it fair to
take his ozeki status from him right after "kosho" injury? If he should
have been saved with "kosho" system with this case, he should be starting
Nagoya-basho as a "kado-ban ozeki", because of makekoshi in January. But in
reality, he did not record makekoshi in January, so he should sart this
basho from scratch.

That means that he is not a "kadoban" ozeki. He needs two additional
consecutive makekoshi to lose ozeki status.

Yomiuri's comment should be WRONG.
